Once again, OnePlus is all set to launch its 2016 flagship in pretty much the same way as we saw last year. The previous year OnePlus launched the OnePlus 2 in the world’s first ever 3D-Virtual Reality launch event. The bold marketing campaign worked out successfully and attracted attention all over the world.
OnePlus 3 is also going to be launched in a 3D-VR Event, to be streamed worldwide from its headquarters on 14th June.
“Inspired by a certain fan video, we took to our imagination of where OnePlus would be decades from now, having moved our headquarters to space. Our space station is called The Loop, and we’re excited for you to check it out,” said Carl Pei.
The company is going to hold 7-pop up events worldwide, showcasing and selling its latest device invite-free. The events are going to take place after the VR launch event (on 15th June) in New-York, Paris, London, Berlin, New-Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore.
From stories and speculations, the device will be available in 6 different variants having a 5.5 inch amoled display, snapdragon 820 processor, fingerprint sensor, USB type-C connector, 16 mega-pixels primary and 8 mega-pixels selfie camera embedded in a stunning metal body with up to 128 GB storage space. Sources claim that three of them will have a 4 GB RAM while the others boast a powerful 6 GB RAM. With a 3,000 mAh of battery, the device is expected to last the whole day in one full charge.
Also, the long wait of OnePlus 2 owners for the upgrade to Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 is over as the company started rolling out the OxygenOS 3.0.2 this week.
With the increasing hype level, let’s not speculate more and wait till tomorrow for the hands on review. See you tomorrow.
