The first one is not actually a use but an advice. Just sell it on a classifieds portal and save yourself from the hassle to charge it, maintain balance, you will actually feel good once you have sold it and I don’t think cash money hurts even if it is just a tiny amount. If you think that selling and haggling for a good price is just too much work then you can donate it, there are a lot of poor people in our country. You don’t even need to find one, you can just give it to your maid or any other servant or guard you employ. You will feel immensely proud of yourself and fulfilled if you teach these people how to operate a smartphone, make calls, install apps, browse internet. It is like introducing them to a whole new world full of possibilities.

One, use it for mobile hotspot or as a portable wifi router. Mostly, the mobile internet plan of the main phone you use is costly and mobile number portability may not be the best option because you need your main phone for making calls also. But, in case of a spare phone that you want to use just for internet, just buy the sim of the network provider with best internet plans and enjoy. Moreover, you may save battery of your main phone by not keeping the data connection on.
Two, use it as a backup phone. How many times have you been in a situation when your phone battery level goes below that red mark? Many times per week atleast for me. You may say just attach the charger and enjoy but what about when you are outside and not near an electricity plug or worse you forgot your charger at home. Here comes the saviour, just insert the sim card in that old phone of yours and keep updated on the stupidity the world is made up of.
Three, use it to listen your favorite songs. Do you like listening to your favorite music? Is your phone filled with dozens of apps you haven’t even opened in a while but still reluctant to delete? Is your phone space always full or just at the point of being full? If the answer to any of these questions is yes, then welcome I have the perfect solution for you. Use that old phone of yours fill it up with all your favorite songs and use a memory card if you need(unlike the phones today with fixed storage capacities, old phones used to come with memory card slots). Now just enjoy your favorite music anywhere and everywhere you want to without worrying about the battery or the storage.
Four, use it as an extra camera-roll. Smartphones or Cameraphones have made everybody a photographer and with the amount of selfie obsessed creatures I see around, I am sure they must face situations when the storage of their phones run out and they have still more moments to capture. What to do in such a disastrous situation, just thank me and your good old phone. Transfer some of the contents from your main phone to the old phone and start taking those worthless selfies again.
Five, use it as a wifi-enabled USB drive. Ever faced a situation where you want to share GBs of files(using ShareIt, Xender, etc) but forgot your USB drive at home and you only have so much storage left in your main phone. Thanks to that old phone you didn’t throw away, you can get all the files you forced your friend to bring to the college(or school/office, etc) without waiting for yet another day to meet and exchange files.
These are just some of the cases that I personally have experienced. Please share any other uses that you have know in the comments below and help make the world a better place 😛
