It’s almost the end of this year but as they always say “It never ends until it ends”. So, to bring a happy end to this year OnePlus has launched another phone in the market and not just any ordinary segment mobile, it’s a flagship. The all new OnePlus 3T, an upgrade to the earlier model.
OnePlus 3 has been the most appreciated flagship since its debut in July this year, bringing in all good at just half the price of other flagships. So why this upgrade? Wasn’t the 3 enough? What’s new and special? And most importantly how’s it different? Let’s find out.
1. Performance
OnePlus 3 has a 2.15 GHz, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. But that’s history. The all new 3T model has a 2.35 GHz, Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor. It’s a good upgrade, but the benchmark scores are almost similar. The new processor runs a bit smoother and helps save battery. Both the models pack a 6 GB of RAM and an ADRENO 530 GPU.
2. Display and Design
Same Old. There’s no change in display and design in the new gadget. It’s still a 5.5 inch, 1080 X 1920 pixels, Optic AMOLED (as OnePlus likes to call it) display panel. Phone dimensions and design are same too but there’s addition of a new colour range, the all new Gunmetal color variants.
3. Camera
Great news for all the selfie lovers. A 16 megapixels front camera in all new OnePlus 3T, earlier which was only 8 megapixels. Much clearer and sharper pictures along with an improved camera algorithm in the new OS. The rear camera is still the same 16 megapixels.
4. Storage
No, it still doesn’t support expanded storage but this time there’s an option. OnePlus 3T comes in two storage variants – 64 GB and 128 GB while former had a 64 GB option only.
5. Battery
The bigger, the better. The newer version packs a 3400 mAh battery contrary to 3000 mAh in the former. This upgrade gives you a 10% enhancement of battery life, although dash charge takes the same one hour to completely charge the phone.
The Verdict
These were some of the basic differences. We still don’t know what the ‘T’ stands for but we are sure you will find it yourself. The final conclusion – If you are using OnePlus 3 already then it won’t be much of an “upgrade” for you. The price of the new model is 29,999 INR for 64 GB storage, a bit higher than OnePlus 3 and 34,999 for 128 GB model which is pretty good. But, yeah, if you are someone desperately waiting to buy a new phone then OnePlus 3T is the one to consider. And by the way, OnePlus 3T will be up for sale on December 14th on Amazon. Expect a more comprehensive review when we get our hands on it.
So stay tuned.
